I suggest I will lose friends over this.
Its Father’s day.
On a Sunday afternoon in 2010, between church services, I was reading the Sunday newspaper…..and it mentioned that due to NSW law changes, there was only one sperm donor in the whole of the state. Apparently, sperm donors were no longer anonymous.
My ex wife and I had been planning on adopting a child from China. Which fell through.
So, I suggested being a sperm donor.
It took 18 months to finalise……
So, I have given four men a Father’s Day they didn’t expect but so wanted.
Four boys and three girls. Two are twins.

Good on you Pete for having the courage to do this and bless 4 families with an opportunity they didn’t otherwise have.
not sure why you would lose friends over this. I salute you. You gave a great gift to families who were unable to create children
Sounds like a great gift 😅😅
“This may be the most controversial blog I have ever written”
How controversial can the comments be?
I think that is so good. 👏💕
Three things that could make this controversial:
One: how was the donor sperm obtained? Was it by a method that most Christians would consider sinful?
Two: how were the pregnancies achieved? If by IVF, IFV has a very high failure rate and for seven live births, on average (and that’s important, it’s only an average) seventy children dying in the process would be on the low side.
Three: what will be the eternal fate of the children created and their descendants? The people created this way and their descendants should have never existed and therefore should they end up in hell for eternity (which statistically is highly likely) how will they feel about the people involved in their artificial creation, and are those involved in their artificial creation comfortable with what they’ve done?
And I forgot one, a child whose parents were not husband and wife is a bastard (Deut 23:2)
Outstanding decision
It is a wonderful gift, to help a family have a child.
This is such a noble thing. Your life’s story have been evolved into places and shaped lives you couldn’t have imagined. Be proud of how this all turned out. It would be interesting to see if anyone of them tried to do a DNA research and your name came up.
