About Peter Pilt

Thanks for reading my blog.

I hope it has been useful to you.

Here is a brief introduction on who I am.

I live life passionately. I love the local church, I love the nation of Australia, I love my family and I love hanging out with people.

I am a Justice Advocate and deeply concerned about the mistreatment of women and girls around the world. I am a huge fan of microenterprise projects as a way of empowering, particularly women, to get out of the cycle of poverty.

After 15 years of being the Senior Pastor of Nowra City Church, a great church on the beautiful South Coast of NSW, I resigned to pursue Justice in a fulltime role as the International Director of Global Care and the Missions Director of INC (International Network of Churches). After doing this for two years, I added to the role, the position of being Senior Pastor of CityHOPE Church. I am also on the National Executive for INC. My heart is that my life would count as being significant in the lives of others.

I have a reputation for being a creative speaker.

In 2013 I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Leadership through Fuller Theological Seminary in the United States. I specialised in Poverty Eradication. Currently I am looking at the options for the next step in my studies which will involve undertaking a Doctorate. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Wollongong Uni, with a double major in Business Management and Economics. I play the Saxophone and am an amateur photographer who has had photographs published. I love travelling and meeting people from all around the world. Experiencing the richness of other cultures is one of the great joys of my life.

Currently I am learning Spanish and recently went to Madrid for a language immersion experience.

I have sat on the Corporate Board of an Accountancy Firm, Clifton Accountants, providing marketing and management advice and I have an investment partnership called PGW Management Services. I have also been a member of the Board of Rubtratec Computers.

I have a regular radio spots on the Vision FM Network. I publish 6 days a week, a Morning News Wrap which is read by several thousand people a day.

I have been married to my wife Melanie for 27 years and have two amazing daughters, Lakeisha and Laura. I believe in living life as an adventure. THIS IS NOT A DRESS REHEARSAL PEOPLE!!

  1. Xlent message on Sunday night Peter! What a bold move to invite Thomas down from Byron Bay!Just wanted to feed back that I loved his energy, his enthusiasm and his message. I received a breakthrough that night and an answer to prayer! I appreciate yours and your team’s committment, to providing thought-provoking sermons week after week. Loved Cameron’s message on ‘Denial’ and Simon’s on ‘Foundations of Faith’ (Book of James). I am not surprised that God has led me to this church! 🙂

  2. dear sir, thanks for all these wonderful sermons, been a great blessing to us.Ps.Gireesh,india

  3. Hi, Peter,
Enjoy your morning news wrap and other input from you. Was at Hillsong now at Blacktown Anglican. Might go back to Hillsong. You are a blessing. Excited by what I have read on your blog. if I lived in Nowra I’d be in your church. Very old friend of James Halliday.

  4. There is no sky fairy……if you have half a brain you would see the lack of evidence. I am sick of organsed religion preaching lies!!!!!!

    • Most People who attack my faith make insulting personally comments like you just have Kylie, rather than contributing in an articulate way to the discussion. Thank you. You have been predictable, made baseless generalisations and proved nothing by your contribution.

      • Peter is right. Why attack someone for having faith in somthing or anything. Ive often wondered if these people are jealous or so unhappy they just feel good putting others down. By the way peter i think you meant to say personal instead of personally.

Ps there are some really stupid comments made by someone called Sharon about Daniel morcombe.
It was posted by someone called Sharon. Given how devastated you were about this tragic murder i think you may want to remove her comments

  5. Hi Peter,

My name is KC Owens, I’m a college student and I love to travel! While cruising the Internet, I found your site and really enjoyed reading your posts. I have been to countries all over Europe with just my backpack and a camera. Since I am a college student and I have significant bills, it can be difficult to find ways to travel the world. However, I have done this several times, with less than ten pounds of luggage and while on a college dime!

I was hoping that you would allow me to write a post for your site to share my tips and tricks with your readers. I put a lot of time into my traveling, it is my biggest passion and I would love to inspire others by sharing my stories, mistakes and triumphs. I look forward to hearing from you!

    Best,

    KC Owens
