“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching”

22 Compelling Reasons why I love church
1) There is a dimension of God that you can only get in community
Matthew 18:20
For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
I love the presence of God here at church
What if we principally meet God in community?
The famous Lords Prayer – the Disciples say – teach us how to pray
Matt 6
OUR Father…….
Jesus was saying you meet God by coming to him as the God of Community
2) Keeps the influence of society’s deification of the individual at bay – as I understand that I am part of the body of Christ
3) There is access to God’s power that is only found in the symphony of church
Matthew 18:19
“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
Agree = symphonia
4) The habit of going to church is a like bumper bowling – keeps me on the straight and narrow.
5) By being part of a church, I sit under Spiritual Authority – and I love that protection
“And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him
to be head over everything for the church”
Ephesians 1:22 (NIV)
6) Synergy of what the church does makes me feel good.
I love the missions that Nowra City Church is involved in. Certainly alot more than I could do as an individual – we people in the church give money to missions there is a synergy that comes that allows my finance to achieve more in terms of being a positive influence in the lives of others.
7) Feeds me spiritually
8) Helps me fulfil the 23 “one anothers” of the New Testament

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
(Hebrews 10:24)

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. (Ephesians 5:21)
Hard to do this when you are doing church at home by yourself.
9) By loving the church, I love what God loves

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
10) By being part of a church, I am involved in a 2000 year old relay race and right now I am carrying the baton, handed to me from my parents generation and I will hand it to my children’s generation.

I love seeing my children being involved in church. I love seeing them be committed to God and his mission for the world.

I’m with you Pete, all the way.
NCC treats me better than my own family does. Someone told me once that Christians use their faith like a crutch. I told them, “Absolutely without it I would topple over “
eloquently put 🙂 The very beat of Gods heart 🙂 Bless you n yours 🙂 & bless the coming together …the knitting together of the body as we glorify Jesus …King of Kings & Lord of All 🙂
I love Church because I AM the church. To love others as myself I have to love Church. It is me. It is identity. It is not what I do on Sundays, it is who I am everyday.
Yes, I get hurt and disappointed in church, because I get hurt and disappointed – it’s not outside it’s inside – it’s me. I want Church to be better, because I want to be better.
I worship in church because I am a worshipper. I give in church because I’m a giver. I teach in church because I’m a teacher. I prophesy in church because I’m a prophet. I love because I’m a lover. I’m powerful because I’m powerful. I’m positive because I’m positive. I learn because I’m a learner. I lead because I’m a leader. I serve because I’m a server.
I am Church going somewhere to happen – and you’ve gotta love that! 😉
