If you are offended by this blog then two things….One I am sorry (Nah I am not really)….Two…you are clearly one of the Lemmings that I am talking about….Someone who cares needs to tell you some home truths.

THIS IS AN INTERVENTION FOR YOU!

I have to say that I get frustrated by Facebook Messenger and the amount of forwarded messages that purport to be a warning about accepting a friend request from someone in particular or opening a video or something similar. There is always predictably the promise of a torturous digital death. And of course the inevitable plea to ‘send this message to as many people as possible’.

Why do people forward these messages to all the people in the Friends list without actually USING THEIR BRAIN…Yep I went there?

It literally takes less than a minute to open Snopes. Which is a fact checking, urban myth website. Surely everyone knows that right…..No they clearly don’t…Why are you talking to yourself! Stop it!

Yes Sir!

I copy and pasted the multiple different messages I got multiple times today into Snopes and they are all fake. In fact over the years….THEY ARE ALL FAKE. I am yet to see one warning message that is actually true….Oh except the one warning me that my Mother in Law was on Social Media….Yeah that was real….so I watched the movie ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ for preparation.

Yeah I will pay for that but hey….Dragons be hating.

But I digress.

Here are the are two messages I got today. Many Many Times.

Please inform all contacts from your list not to open a video called the “Dance of the Hillary”. It is a virus that formats your mobile. Beware it is very dangerous. They announced it today on BBC radio. Fwd this msg to as many as you can

Cue Screen Shots from Snopes….Literally doing this whilst waiting for the wife in an Aldi carpark….She won’t be super excited about the Movie reference but the dragon ‘may take our lives…but she will never take OUR FREEDOM’. Anyway I am in trouble…But I have acquired a certain set of skills…

Whoops I digress again…Here are the screen shots.

So why do the Lemmings keep forwarding them? And yes I am being deliberately provocative because my frustration level is at Platinum. If you are one of the Lemmings and you are offended by being labelled a Lemming….Then just send this message to all your friends….Do not just share YOU MUST COPY AND PASTE….and then make a large donation to Global Care…..or I will personally come and digitally wipe your phone.

I just want people to think. Think before blindly following some anonymous person who tells you to forward a message…Oh and just because the message says that they heard it on BBC radio today…AND WE LIVE IN AUSTRALIA….think!!!  Anyway so here my new Social Media Rule…..Forward me a Facebook Message and I will block you and dance on your digital grave..And paste a link to this blog on your Facebook wall.

RIP Lemming.

So let’s do a summary….If you get a Facebook message passionately imploring you to send on the message to ALL your Social Media friends, a warning about impending digital doom….think of this image before you send it on.

And if you don’t know about Lemmings…then you seriously don’t know enough to ever forward on a Facebook Message.

I so hope I have offended lots of my Social Media friends…the Lemming ones.

If I have failed….then here is the new rule for me restated. If we are Facebook friends and you spam my inbox, I will automatically block you and dance on your digital grave.

Anyway that’s what I think.

Please share this with all your social media friends…If you don’t Joyce Meyer will cause the death of your favourite pet. Hey this is true, I heard it today on CNN, BBC, Sky News, Al Jazeera, CNBC, and better than all that, I read it in Facebook Messaging.
